Minding Our Emotions

Pixar’s animated film Inside Out can be a teaching tool to help students understand and express their emotions. The website provides four marvelous activities for students of all ages and language levels. Playing the movie and doing one of the activities could be a multipart class or an English club session.

Picture-bound Travel Adventure

Intermediate- level EFL students work in groups to write and tell a creative, cohesive travel adventure based on the people and places they select from pictures.

Memory Challenge

A great game to review vocabulary for a unit or a specific topic. The more “meetings” students have with vocabulary words, the better they remember.

What am I? Who am I?

A role-play activity, is a “Whose line is it, anyway?” styled activity where students express personality traits, emotions, types of people, stereotypes and/or animals. Get ready to act!

Students are taught what an archetype is through the example of movie heroes and are then challenged to recognize archetypes in movie villains.
